The voice can be affected by vocal behaviours and general health. Indications of a voice disorder include
- persistent hoarseness or breathiness
- excess clearing of throat
- vocal fatigue
- reduced vocal range
- reduced vocal volume
- vocal tremor
- increased or decreased pitch
- changes in singing voice
Before contacting a Speech Pathologist, it is recommended that patients arrange an appointment with an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon (ENT) in order to determine the cause of their vocal difficulties.
